The promised update

So I said that last week was crazy, well this week is shaping up to be even worse! So I figured I ahd better take a few minutes while the kids are watching Anastasia (love breaking out the old movies they haven't seen in a while) to get caught up.

So last week Sarah had a horrible ear infection, ok actually it has been longer than a week. Her ear has been draining for 12 days now. yes that is right 12. Oh and it is still draining. We had to take her back to her ENT who said that her tube was still there, but yes she does still have an ear infection (Like the drainage didn't tip me off?) So he perscribed us two more antibiotics to get it cleared up. I really hope this works.

Add to the whole Sarah being sick thing that I had to write a paper plus two responce collages, read 4 books, plus a 20 page article, Oh and find a back up babysitter since Sarah was sick, and you can guess how my week went last week (actually from the Thursday before that, but who is counting? Oh yeah me 12 days and still going...).

Cassidy has been swesome this week though. She has helped out a ton and only whined about it a little. The other day when she saw I was getting ready to loose it, she said to me "Mom, why don't you go get a Pepsi. I will watch the kids for you. " lol. She's nine and we do let her watch the younger ones for short trips to the grocery store (it's 1 1/2 blocks away) as long as we have a cell phone with us, and our neighbor is home and knows we are leaving for a min. She is getting pretty good at watching them. She won't be old enough for me to really let her watch them for a couple more years, but for 10-15 min. she does a great job!

Becka has been pretty good as well. She has only had a few melt downs and she even made her own bed and picked up the floor of the bedroom (small steps). She is having a hard time with Sarah getting so much attention being sick, and I am trying to give her some one on one time, but it doesn't always work out to well. She is such a cutie though. I will have to put some pictures here soon. But I am busy and haven't had the time.

As for this week, well I have Midterms. So I have to write two 4 page papers. That alone wouldn't be too bad if I could pick my topics, but I can't I have to write responces to the questions that the Prof made up. And I honestly do not think they could have been more vague. Don't get me wrong. This guy is brilliant. He is a great prof, I just don't know what he wants. I am one of those people who like to know what teachers want. I have always been that way. And usually, I can guess and get it right fairly quickly. Not with this guy. He hasn't liked anything I have written yet. And I am getting frustrated, so yeah pretty stressful haveing to write a paper in response to a vague question (or statement) and I still don't know what writing style to use. Oh well Guess we'll see. Luckily the midterm is only 20% of my grade (Yeah um, insert that eye rolling emoticon here). So yeah, busy week.

BUT, I do have something to look forward to. I am going to Vegas! YEAH!! there is a group of us going: Myself, DH, My best friend, his best friend, another friend, and possible another couple. I am very excited to get away for a few days. I really need the break (and right after my Midterms are handed in. Perfect timing). So look out Vegas here I come! Umm not that I am much of a party girl. I don't drink, I don't gamble... But who cares! I can find lots of stuff to do. Plus it's warm there! and we have our choice of 5 pools at the condo we are staying at. Goodbye snow, hello sun, at least for 3 days.

So I may be scarce until next Monday, Although I may update after I finish my Midterm papers. We will have to see. As for now, well back to thw writing board or program as it may be. I am off to start my papers and see how badly I can mess up my grade in one class... Enjoy!

I'm in trouble...

Yes, I admit it. I am in way over my head with my children. They are too smart for me. In fact they are too smart for themselves. Let me tell you why...

So We are in the potty training phase of life. We are full of potty-parades, potty treats, and the joy of sharing the potty treats. Yes Sarah likes to share,a and that's a good thing. But Becka knows that when Sarah gets a potty treat, so does she. That's a bad thing. You see it started off like any other potty day. Sarah would pee in the toilet, then come and tell me, we'd go and look and say "YEAH!!!! Sarah peed in the toilet!" and do the potty parade where we march down the hall for a potty treat chanting "Sarah peed in the toilet" over and over. So we were doing well. She hadn't had any accidents and then, just as I sit down to read my email (and let's face it visit my boards) Sarah comes up to me and tells me she peed in the toilet. So of course I tear myself from my cyber world and prepare myself for another potty-parade. This time though Becka is standing by the toilet looking in saying "look mom! Look!" I look and yes there is pee there. So I start walking down the hall for the potty treats when what do I see, A mysterious yellow puddle in the kitchen. I look closer, yep it's pee. So I get a rag to clean it with wondering how long it has been there, except, what's this it's still warm?
I ask Sarah "what's this?"
and she says "I peed on the floor."
So I say"Who peed in the toilet?"
"Becka did! We get a potty treat!"
um not quite. So then I have to tell them that it doesn't work that way. They only get a treat if SARAH potties, not Becka. And then I walk back to the computer shaking my head knowing I am going to be in way over my head if they are conspiring against me already. I mean, they are two and three!!! Yep fun times,

But wait! There's more. I do have another child and yes she is going to be just as much trouble. See Cassidy has this problem cleaning her room. I know, I know. That's what all kids do, but you see she will do anything to get out of it, and I am not talking normal stuff, no. I am talking stuff that I would never have thought of doing. I mean, we all know the cram stuff under the bed tricks, or the shove it in the closet ones, but this, well this just tops all of them. See we suffer from common ailment in our house called "Lack of storage." Our cure for this was to put the suitcases in the kids closets because their dresses done reach down that far. Anyway back to the cleaning story, Cassidy says that she is finished, so Ryan goes to check. Sure enough her floors are clean, there is nothing under the bed, the beds are made, the dressers are cleaned off, and the dresser drawers are actually shut! (I knew I should have taken a picture!) So since Ryan had moved the suitcases out so Cassidy could reach the stuff she had thrown behind them, he goes to put them back. He picks up the suitcase, and when he tries to lift it, his arm moves, but the suitcase doesn't. He says to me (later) "That suitcase sure was heavy for being empty" So he opens the latches (Old suitcases, no zippers). Have you seen those movies where you open something and it just explodes? I mean clothing flying everywhere? Well that is what happens. She had opened the suitcase, and stuffed it with all the dirty clothes. I still do not know how she shut it. Anyway Ryan calls me back to see what was going on. I walk back there and say
"what's with the suitcase?" at which point I hear the story. But it gets better, You see there was more than one suitcase. While I am standing there, Ryan grabs suitcase number two. He looks at me, like not again. I look as Cassidy as she is looking at the suitcase with fear, I mean she is staring at it like "oh crap" Ryan opens the latch and BAM!!! Clothing everywhere again. At which point I say "Busted!" Cassidy starts to cry, and I leave the room so Cassidy will not see me laughing. I mean who would have thought about opening a suitcase and shoving all the dirty clothes into it when the hamper was right there, empty.

So Yep I am in way over head here. I seriously do not know what I am going to do when they are teenagers. Yeah, not looking forward to that so much...

And so it begins...

Potty training that is. Yes I am officially potty training Sarah. This was not by choice however. I am so not ready to have my baby be a big girl! But she is ready. How do I know she ready? Well, for the past few days she has ran around naked and has peed in the toilet once a day. I figure if she can make it once a day, then she is ready to start. And I am ready to be done with diapers, after all, Who wants to wipe a stinky butt? I knew this day was coming and I am in that conflicting stage. I want her to be potty trained. I do! I just don't want her to grow up!

Sarah has been early at almost everything. She was born three Weeks early (yet still weighed a whopping eight pounds, fourteen ounces!!). She started walking when she was eight months old! (I have pictures if you don't believe me). She has been talking for at least a year. She can sing the alphabet... I could go on and on, but the point it, She doesn't want to be my baby anymore! In fact, she never was a cuddly baby. And once she figured out how to walk, well let's just say that she did not want to be carried unless it was her idea!

So there it is. Sarah is potty training. And while I am glad to be done with the baby stuff (for a while anyway, until I can convince Hubby otherwise), I am sad that the baby years past so quickly. So Yeah for potty training, and Boo hoo for babies growing up before we are ready.

Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day is coming. I know this because all of sudden my Hubby is asking me what I want. He looked really perturbed when I said "I don't want Flowers, candy, or jewelry" Poor guy. It's not that I wouldn't love any one of those things any other time, but I want him to think and be creative. For example (yes honey here are some major hints. Now we'll see if you even look at my blog) I would love a coupon for a pedicure, or a massage. I would love a nice book (Not a gift cert for the book though). There is this statue that I would love. It's called Toe Dancing, I think, or something close, and it's of a dad dancing with his daughter. I have mentioned over and over that I want that because I have a picture of Hubby dancing with Cassidy just like that at our wedding. I would love a picture of the Salt Lake Temple. I want something like those things. But really I don't need any of those things. He could just write me a letter telling me why he still loves me and that would be great!

So I have gone on and on about what I want, and don't want. Pretty self centered huh? Well here's the deal on what Hubby is getting. He has been asking for an MP3 player for a while. So I went looking. I found a great deal on one online so I ordered it. Ladies, if you are ordering a gift for a snoopy husband, DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT have it sent to your house!!! Your hubby will inevitably find it, open it, and begin playing with it while you are at the store (Or school in my case). Yep. Happy Valentine's Day Love, You got an MP3 player 3 weeks ago. Now I need to think of something else since he already found that. Hmmm any suggestions?
